Having a positive body image is important for healthy development in children and adolescent. If a person is generally happy with their physical appearance, they are more likely to display confidence and positivity in their daily tasks and relationships. The “Changing Perceptions” zine is all about focusing on positive body images and promoting a healthy self-esteem among young women.
“Changing Perceptions” discusses relevant issues relating to body image that young women are faced with every single day from a very early age. Unlike other fashion, gossip and lifestyle magazines on the market
“Changing Perceptions” does not try to tell you that looking like a catwalk model or a Hollywood celebrity is the only way to be successful and happy. A woman’s worth should be measured by her personality and the decisions she makes regarding her education, work, family and friends, certainly not by the way she gives in to the media and peer pressure about how she should look, who she should date, what she should say, how she should pose (in order to feel good, or grab the attention of others!!).
“Changing Perceptions” wants YOU to say “I’m happy with the way I look” and truly celebrate your body, it’s amazing how great it will make you feel!!
